2016 has been a pretty busy year for the CinemaCake crew! We have experienced a lot of change, from working with fun, new clients, to launching our new website, to moving to our new home in West Conshohocken. Here's our list of some of our favorite 2016 memories!
Winter 2016- The LemonBall
In January, CinemaCake was a sponsor for the 2016 Lemon Ball. This was our first year joining this amazing event and the team was excited to be a part of the night. Our crew filmed guests enjoying the event, interacting with the event sponsors and giving to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. CinemaCake then worked with the ALSF to create a recap film that highlighted amazing moments from the speeches, live auction, and the fun on the dance floor! This year's Lemon Ball raised over $927,000 for pediatric cancer research and the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation looks forward to raising even more funds at next year's event.
Spring 2016- "What's Baking" Web Series
All the way back in 2015, we got to work developing a fresh, new website for CinemaCake. It was a daunting task and we are very grateful to Elyse Lupin, owner of Elysium Marketing Group and Deanna Wallace, owner of Deelicious Web Design for all of their help and guidance during the process. As the launch date drew near, we really wanted the announcement for the new site to be fun! Early on, we talked about a web series to tease the new site, and it quickly developed into a story line set in the CinemaCake kitchen. The vignettes were a ton of fun to create and we had a blast watching everyone make guesses online about what the series was teasing. Check out all of the fun vignettes we created in the collection below.
Spring 2016- Settlement School Gala
While we were putting our final touches on our website, we were also working with some of our cutest on-screen talent to date! The Settlement School hosted their annual gala in May and this year's event was spotlighting the Pre-K program. Since it wouldn't be possible to bring several rambunctious toddlers to a formal gala, we created this film to give the audience a taste of what a day is like at the school. The film was a huge hit and showed how truly important arts education is for our children.
Summer 2016- WoMo Web Series
Early in 2016, Elyse Lupin, founder of the Elysium Marketing Group, and Sheryl, co-owner of CinemaCake Filmmakers, were having a conversation about the struggles of being a working mom. They talked about how difficult it can be to go back to work after having a child and the struggles working moms continue to face. Looking for a community to discuss these ideas further, the two women teamed up to create the Working Moms Network, or WoMo. The focus of this network is to bring the stories of inspiring working mothers in the greater Philadelphia area to women everywhere. Through short films shared bi-weekly, we hear first hand from the mothers who have been there and juggled that! The interviews feature each mom's tips and tricks to work/life balance and gets honest about the struggles they face every day. Combined with fun "Mom Fail" stories and words of encouragement, these films are designed to inspire and motivate working moms of any age.
Fall 2016- Philly Fights Cancer round 2
On October 15th, the Abramson Cancer Center hosted "Philly Fights Cancer- round 2" and the event was a total hit! Over 1,300 people attended the star studded gala and more than 5 million dollars was raised to help in the fight. Guests enjoyed performances from Tig Notaro, Lionel Richie, and Jennifer Hudson, and we were there to capture every amazing moment. Check out our trailer for the event here!
As we look ahead to 2017, we cannot wait to continue working with our amazing clients and see what is in store! We hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season and CinemaCake will see you in the new year!
