Austin’s Coming Soon Trailer

December 17, 2009

Austin’s slam dunk of a night at Beat Street in Huntingdon Valley.  Melissa Paul of Evantine Design brought it all together with planning, entertainers, etc. as Chickie’s & Pete’s  fed the crowd.

Melissa asked Jimmy to grab this image of me in action.

You had me at “Fantastic”, Kenny

December 09, 2009

There’s no better way to get on our blog than by throwing us the love like Kenny did.  Thanks Kenny!

Dear Dave,

FANTASTIC! The footage you shot at the Menghetti wedding on 8-29-09 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Linwood,NJ and The Ram’s Head Inn, Absecon, NJ was absolutely phenomenal!

As a bandleader in the circuit for over 25 years I have seen a lot of video crews, and, the best thing about your crew was that they were “there” but “not there”. They were not “in your face”, they don’t use “stadium lighting” that ruins the ambiance, and they got great footage that in post was edited together seamlessly.

The audio line they took from my mixing board was peeked to the perfect level to maximize the quality of our sound without distortion or clipping that cannot be repaired after the fact.

BRAVO! I will recommend you to everyone who asks for a real pro video operation and I hope that we have the pleasure of working together again very soon!

Musically Yours,

Kenny i

CINEMACAKE Filmmakers

December 07, 2009

Soon you will see a new name and brand identity for the wedding and event filmmaking side of our business.  Here’s a sneak peek.

What comes to mind when you hear “wedding video?”  You may not be surprised to learn that many folks imagine a man in a tux with a big camera on his shoulder and bright video lights, attempting to conduct unsolicited interviews with guests at their tables.  Some folks think about the end product itself; a two hour snorefest.

We know what most of our clients want;  private, intimate moments depicted on film.  The challenge of a great event cinematographer is to not disturb or manipulate the setting, just capture it in all its honesty and truth.

Filmmaking is the medium we have chosen as our way to express ourselves artistically since 2001.  Our candid cinematography style not only ensures guests are comfortable, but in most cases, they are unaware a film is even being made.

Private, discreet coverage of special candid moments are possible with small, low-light sensitive cameras which means no bright lights.  In fact, we’re so unobtrusive, it’s often hard to tell us apart from the guests.

On the post-production side, a personal touch is given to each film.  Authentic, unobtrusive filmmaking comes to life in the hands of a great editor.  Our editors are artists too.  They have the task of telling the story in an entertaining and emotional fashion.  Our films move at a pace that never causes our clients to reach for the fast-forward button.

Our new name will represent our philosophy, our style, and our determination to continue to attract the client who says “I don’t want video.”

Stay tuned.  We’re going to have some fun.
