Editor Spotlight: James Rolfe

July 28, 2008

The day James came to work for me, I thought, “What a nice, mild-mannered boy.  He probably doesn’t drink, doesn’t curse.  Simply charming.”  World . . . meet James:

James Rolfe is an independent filmmaker whose work usually shows a resistance to the common trends of cinema production, therefore dubbing his trademark name “CineMassacre”. Most people on the internet know him as the creator and actor of “The Angry Video Game Nerd”, the foul mouthed tempered geek who shows a lot of contrast between his regular personality, his other films, and his work as a wedding video editor for CinemaCake.

Drewku: (07.29.08-1:51pm) James is totally awesome! You Rock!!

Anonymous: (07.29.08-1:54pm) James is the best at what he does, I predict in the near future he will be on on TV.

Anonymous: (07.29.08-1:57pm) lol! James rolfe! If I was getting married i would definately have him edit the video!!

MosStills: (07.29.08-1:59pm) James!<BR>you embody GEEK AWESOMENESS!

Jamie: (07.29.08-2:02pm) James is talented in a multitude of different ways - He is hysterically funny and witty. James writes a wide range of original and clever material aswell as doing a lot of his own post production and editing. Rolfe can play multiple characters simultaneously reacting in a believable way to later added in versions of himself. The question is "Is they anything he can't do?"

Anonymous: (07.29.08-2:10pm) James Rofle is the best guy in Filming and editing so use him wisely and a great actor.. can't argue with that.

Anonymous: (07.29.08-2:11pm) I don't know James, but you can tell his family and friends love being around him. His AVGN skits are hilarious; his horrow clips a great blend of fright and fun. You can see his family and friends just like to be around him, and his clips show the audience matters too. What a rich life, James! Keep going, man.<BR><BR>origin47

Anonymous: (07.29.08-2:14pm) James your awsome at your videos now one can argue with that so make those ppl proud. and keep up those AVGN videos I'll be waiting for them.

Over-Excited Oldschool Gamer Geek: (07.29.08-2:16pm) You Rule James!!! Keep up the awesome work. Maybe I'll have you work on my wedding sometime soon...

Anonymous: (07.29.08-2:25pm) James does such a great job with whatever he does. And I'm not just saying that because I like his AVGN movies. I watched a lot of his other works and documentaries and what not and well I hope he makes blockbuster movies one day.

Carlos: (07.29.08-2:31pm) James kicks ass! He's a highly talented video editor AND game collector! Hooray for this guy and his AVGN alter-ego!

MEL lavrault: (07.29.08-2:34pm) There is nothing James can't do. He's amazingly comic and seriously over the top! Just when you think he won't do it he's done it. He also shows a huge range of talent from the epic paper cut-out animations of grade school to his extensive videography knowledge and completed projects. He continues to bring a smile to my face and a fire of inspiration in my heart. <BR><BR>Good on you, James, old chap! All the best to you and I know you'll win!!!

Anonymous: (07.29.08-2:36pm) James Rolfe is a genius! Hopefully the media will pick up on him more and he can begin to see some TV and big screen movies.

Anonymous: (07.29.08-2:42pm) James you're simply awesome. I'm always spreading the word on the work that you do and your websites. Keep up the good work, you keep us all entertained.

Anonymous: (07.29.08-2:43pm) For a long time, I didn't know about your website, and assumed that you WERE 'the nerd!' I used to type 'angry videogame nerd' into Google to find the videos. However, I recently discovered your site and think your work is amazing. You obviously have a great deal of talent and I deeply respect you!..also, I wish to eat your skin! I'm Sam, i'm English and I am a dyslexic fleesh-burgular!

Anonymous: (07.29.08-2:51pm) Keep up the good work James smile

Pete: (07.29.08-2:54pm) I've watched his movie about his first movie until his 200th movie, and how it all came to be and I've got to say I was really impressed by his talent and determination to do these videos. After already developing so much skills and get so much experience, it's no wonder his AVGN movies are among the best of the internet. But it's pretty clear that he can do a lot more than just AVGN movies, and I do wonder how far he can go film-related. Keep up the good work!

Brito2381: (07.29.08-3:03pm) James is simply the man...imitated but never duplicated.

Anonymous: (07.29.08-3:16pm) The man is god damn hilarious and has just has such a great knowledge of the film industry with his great reviews expressing his opinions in a way no one else can. As i haven't played many games prior to the playstation 1, by watching his videos, he has vastly increased my retro knowledge with a character that is just hilarious and they just show how much of a hardcore and dedicated gamer he is. In videos such as the Nightmare on Elm street video, his skills in film making are hugely evident, showing a great use in a wide range of film making skills and his great sense of humour that many people often try to copy but usually fail in. Now i could praise the man all day but all i'm gonna say is this, well done James and keep making the videos, they're awesome!

Anonymous: (07.29.08-3:18pm) James is the reason I log off TF2, hes the reason I turn my TV off and my laptop on. Even if he stopped acting and never wrote script for another character. I would seek out whatever obscure cinematic projects or main stream media that he helps create. James, your the Conan O'Brian of internet entertainment 'once a writer now a God'.<BR><BR>Jeremy T.

Riphard @ RetroJunk.com: (07.29.08-3:18pm) James is better than the AVGN lets on. Sadly, he will soon grow out of it and move on to bigger and better things. This rising indie star will soon be gobbled up by the mainstream and spit out onto cable TV. Oh Rolfe, we knew thee well. All the best!

Anonymous: (07.29.08-3:20pm) .

schizo: (07.29.08-3:27pm) you must make one kickass wedding video :D

Captain_Clayman: (07.29.08-3:30pm) Awesome dude.<BR>I had no idea.<BR>You gotta be on TV some day, have your own show, that'd be THE BOMB!<BR>You could show AVGN on it at late night so it doesn't have to be ccensored!

George H. Wells: (07.29.08-3:37pm) James Rolfe keep it that way. You're a great artist.

Ricardo: (07.29.08-5:17pm) Epic<BR>xD nice i love ur vids keep them up

Anonymous: (07.29.08-5:43pm) It would be more fun to send James to someone's wedding that you hate and have him review the wedding smile

Anonymous: (07.29.08-6:43pm) James never fails to entertain his fans

Anonymous: (07.29.08-9:39pm) Support is given. Rolfe Rocks!

Gimp2000: (07.29.08-9:52pm) James you're a genius. Keep up your great work. I wish you all the best.<BR><BR>;)

Patrick Schatz aka N64 nerd: (07.29.08-10:08pm) James has simuler magic to lucis and spielberg. <BR>He has his own theatre,in which he is manager, actor, prompter, playwright, sceneshifter, boxkeepeer, doorkeeper, all in one,and audience into the bargain.<BR><BR>Acting is not being emotional, but being able to express emotion. <BR>Acting is a question of absorbing other people's personalities and adding some of your own experience. <BR><BR>James has that magic.<BR><BR>He is the VIDEO GAME WIZZARD.

Anonymous: (07.29.08-10:55pm) Oh ja auch deutsche Grüße (german greetings) von mir (i send u) your the best in video games reviews but ...I'm really sorry THAT GUY WITH GLASES makes the best movie ones (I`m sorry for my bad english)<BR><BR>so when ..well you have time u can visit me on my Hompage http://www.jack-blackz-cox.com we are a kind of a sketch groupe or somthing cyaaaaaaa

Rock: (07.30.08-1:52am) If he lived closer to me I'd want him to take my wedding photos...and tell me that the ceremony is fucking horrible and that he'd have more fun spending an afternoon having an anal El Nino.

Anonymous: (07.30.08-5:58am) "James is the best at what he does, I predict in the near future he will be on on TV."<BR>He has already appeared on TV.

Anonymous: (07.30.08-7:00am) James is the best smile

Anonymous: (07.30.08-7:01am) James is the best smile

Anonymous: (07.30.08-8:16am) James is awesome i love all of his movies

Master Owner: (07.30.08-3:14pm) What can i say about James?... Well, i see him as the Peter Jackson of a new generation. I hope to see great things about his films in the future.<BR><BR>GO JAMES!

Reed: (07.30.08-6:49pm) Ever since I saw his AVGN movies on youtube.com and screwattack.com, I got hooked, plan and simple.

Dani: (07.30.08-9:55pm) Can't wait to have you film my wedding, James =) I feel kind of silly hiring my idol to do that, but hey it would just add to the whole dream-come-true atmosphere that weddings are supposed to have.

Anonymous: (07.31.08-1:04pm) He's already been on Spike... And he pwns!

Anonymous: (07.31.08-7:52pm) James, hope 2 see U do work on TV or the movies someday smile!

YOU WERE MADE FOR THE MOVIES!

July 17, 2008

YOU WERE MADE FOR THE MOVIES!

by Sarah DiCicco

The most memorable day of any girl’s life has now become positively unforgettable. For the first time ever, wedding photographer Sarah DiCicco (www.sarahdicicco.com) has made it possible for newlyweds, along with their family and friends, to relive the love, laughter and emotion of their wedding day in the grandest of fashion offering an exclusive photo presentation of their special day on the movie theater big screen.

With the help of Dvideography (www.cinemacake.com), DiCicco compiles the wedding day photos, while CinemaCake does its magic by conducting interviews with the bride and groom and family and friends to seamlessly accompany the images allowing clients to relive the wedding day as if it were happening all over again. The bride and groom take home their wedding photographs after the movie premiere allowing them to experience their wedding day again and again and to pass on their special moments to generations to come.  The photo film premiere is exclusively available to DiCicco clients.

Often, wedding photographers present your proofs in a small thumbnail proof book, on CD or with watermarks over your images which are seldom retouched.  With Sarah DiCicco, your wedding experience is vastly different with proofs that are final images consisting of up-to 900 to 1200 4 x 6 custom retouched prints displayed in three leather albums. After all of the planning and time that you put into your wedding, the images are what you have to remember your special day.

The photo film premiere is an extraordinary experience for any couple, but it’s an ideal answer for couples whose friends and family weren’t able to attend their destination wedding. The premiere will allow them to experience the couple’s wedding day as if they were guests at the actual wedding.

“I am thrilled to be the first wedding photographer to offer this unprecedented new way to see your wedding day photos,” said wedding photographer, Sarah DiCicco.  “This is so much more than simply pictures put to music. This is truly a production worthy of the big screen.”

Erin Elizabeth Conroy of Newtown, PA and Thomas John Welling Jr. of Bronxville, N.Y recently experienced this star treatment.  They were married February 2, 2008 at St. Vincent Ferrer in New York City, followed by a reception at Manhattan’s Capitale. On June 1st, the couple were greeted by their names displayed on the marquee at the Anthony Wayne Cinema and poster images of the couple inside the theater lobby. Friends and family were on hand to feel all the emotion of the newlywed’s wedding day all over again.

Dave & Sheryl,

I can’t even begin to say how over the top the movie premier was!!!  The reason I tell everyone that you are the best because it is true! Your high level of quality and unwavering ability to create a true piece of art is priceless. Thank you for not just taking the time to work with me on this, but also your friendship and your ability to take it a step further!  Simply Amazing!

With all of our love, Sarah & Tony

Table Art Wins ISES Best Table Design and Best Event Decor

July 12, 2008

by K. Patty
ISES
International Special Events Society

Dozens of local florists and event planners worked tirelessly all year to be able to enter their best designs in this prestigious competition.  The awards ceremony was held at the Society Hill Sheraton on June 25th.  TableArt attended knowing a few of our events were nominated in the categories of “Best Table Design” and “Best Event Decor”.  We brought home an award for our Flower Power party for “Best Table Top”, and our Floating Candles party, designed in coordination with Brian Toner from Eventions Productions, and Dave Williams from CinemaCake  won an award for “Best Event Decor”.

Flower Power [WATCH VIDEO]
Ice crystals, crystal chandeliers, and flowers were the focal point of this awesome party at the Naval Yard in Philadelphia.  Chocolate brown velvet linens, glass vases filled with mango calla lillies, cherry brandy roses, mokara orchids, glass and crystal table top chandeliers won “Best Tabletop Design”!  The marriage of traditional velvet and flowers with the modern white water glass and white glass charger was a WOW!

Floating Candles [WATCH VIDEO]
Floating candles and video wallpaper were the focal point of this amazing party at the Crane Art Center in Philadelphia. Kathy Patty of TableArt, Brian Toner of Eventions,  and Dave Williams of CinemaCake worked together to produce this event which won “Best Event Decor” of Philadelphia. Hundreds of candles floated above the guests’ tables, video imagery brought the walls alive, and the tables were covered in grass wallpaper and were centered with Lucite ponds filled with riverrocks, orchid blooms, and floating candles. It was spectacular!
