Back in January in EventDV, I announced that we’d be taking a slightly different approach with the EventDV 25 this year, announcing not just the “top 25” as in past years but also a group of finalists, consisting, essentially, of a second group of 25 that stood out in this year’s voting as tabulated by me and our esteemed commissioner, John Goolsby. The main idea here was to highlight a number of studios who are clearly “on the bubble,” edging ever so closer to cracking the EventDV 25 and stepping into the spotlight as all-stars in the coming years. There are, of course, several familiar names here, EventDV 25 all-stars from the 2006, 2007, and 2008 lists who did well in the voting again this year but didn’t register a top 25 vote total this time around. Here you’ll also see quotes from the voters to get a sense of what makes these companies hot and influential, and what the newcomers are doing to climb the ladder and emerging as forces to be reckoned with in our ever-evolving industry.  READ MORE HERE

Technology just keeps making what we do so much fun.  We already produce live, secure web broadcasts for out of town or sick family members who want to be part of the event, but this new front-facing camera and software makes our heads spin!  Imagine the fun we’ll have!  Read More

Sheryl and I take notice of how our clients find us.  Also, we are always eager to share resources with our clients.  Therefore, we thought it would be worthy mentioning a truly helpful resource for our brides which has also been a wonderful help to us.  We realize that there are so many sites online that offer advice and advertisers, but sometimes it’s hard to tell them apart.  WeddingWire.com is different.

Our WeddingWire listing started out free a couple years ago and continues to be free.  This is one of those gems - a resource that clients know and trust, and another way to get our name in front of prospective clients without additional advertising dollars.  There are advertising opportunities (listings near the top, banners, etc) with WeddingWire, but we have never paid a dime.  I feel kind of guilty.

What we like most is that the reviews about vendors are real.  It’s very easy to see who has taken care of clients and who has a spotty history.  And check out this neat little widget they gave us to embed some of our recent reviews right into our own blog (I’m allowed to brag):
