Smooth Moves Glidecam Workshop in Arkansas

April 26, 2007

I just want to thank the great guys at White Diamond Productions for bringing me in to teach their Glidecam Workshop.  What a top-notch crew to work with!  Pictured left to right, Marty, me, Chris, and Dave.

In our two-day workshop, the guys ramped up very quickly.  By day two we were rolling through many exercises, including hard-mounting to Marty’s production truck and shooting throughout the studio parking lot.

Thanks for your hospitality gentlemen!

Dave

Dave’s Pet Projects - Dave Williams Films

April 20, 2007

When I launched Dave Williams Films in January of this year, I only planned on booking one or two of these pet projects in 2007.  Dave Williams Films ( dwf ) is for referrals only and is designed to meet the needs of the most discriminating clients, celebrities, and those planning destination weddings and events.  The response was tremendous and now I am booked for 2007.  This year’s destinations include St. Thomas, Australia, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.  I still have time to take on 3 more dwf projects in 2008.  Dave Williams Films projects start at $10,000 and are by referral only.

By the way, on my way to Australia I’ll be spending a little time with David Robin of Boulevard Video Productions.  On Tuesday, David spoke at the Greater Philadelphia Videographers Association (GPVA) meeting.  David also held a full day training seminar for professional videographers in and around the Philadelphia area.  David reviewed some of the techniques and strategies that have made him a true leader in this industry.  He also announced his new venture, David Robin Films.  Dave is a true artist and I want to publicly thank him for visiting Philadelphia and sharing his knowledge with us.

Mail Bag: Letters from the bride, groom, AND Mom.

April 06, 2007

From the bride:

Dave,

We went away and just returned. I had to pick them up so that’s why there’s been a delay. Mom and Madison are out of the country so you’ll be hearing from them I’m sure later this week as I’m off to the post office to mail them their copy right after I send this to you.

It’s really incredible. Tom, the girls and I watched the video together and we laughed and cried and went crazy. It’s so beautiful and the music is perfect. It’s so special words can’t express our feelings. What a treasure. I’m going to go crazy until Mom and Madison get home to see it. For Tom and I it was like being there for the first time. You’re so talented I could go on and on.

Thank you so much again for your creative and hard work. We will let all our friends and family know that they can purchase a copy through you. We’ll be in touch.

Angie

From the groom:

Hello Dave, Long time no hear sir….
Well I have to tell you, Angie and I were so excited to hear that the video had been completed, she made me promise that we watch it together, and we just recently watched the video with my 2 daughters since it was my week with the kids….
We are absolutely blown away by the video, it turned out so well, words cannot express how we both feel at the moment.  We now know all the details, those things Angela and I had missed while we were caught up in the moment, feels like the day just blew by and we felt we missed so much,  the video really brings out the joy, the beauty, and the moments that are etched in our memories for ever.
Thank You so much for your hard work, you and your staff have the gift of talent as the end result is nothing like we expected, it was so much more!
Angela and I want you to know, we are so very grateful that Jo and Madison picked you to do our video, and we Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.  This is very special to us, and we will cherish this video for the rest of our lives.
When my daughters decide to wed, I know who to call!
Thank you for everything Dave, you guys are the Best!
Tom Torres

From Mom:

We are flabbergasted by your work. We have shown it to many friends and as they watch they invariably oooh and ahhhh over you! Everyone is blown away by the videography, editing, and music. It looks like a beautiful feature film. Yesterday I showed it to an actress friend of mine who said it sounded as though it had been scripted ... now that’s good editing. And to think we don’t even remember you being there! It boggles the mind, you are amazing. It has such a natural beautiful seamless flow that captures the day in perfect detail. Your sensitivity shows in every frame. To watch is to be served up our most intimate feelings by a master craftsman who understands the delicate subtleties of his task. The music choices are dead on. They carried us through every turn underscoring the journey in perfect harmony. It was especially wonderful to hear a string version of Beauty and the Beast played under the footage after Jeannne finished the song. Your choice of sound bites over the perfect footage is both thoughtful and beautiful. The rehearsal dinner prayer by my brother-in-law and so many other choices that took real thought and care. There is so much attention to detail that we know will hold even more meaning for us as the years go by. Words are not enough to express our appreciation for such immense care. Thank you, thank you, thank you without end.

In Deepest Gratitude and Respect,

Jo and Madison Galbraith

Mail Bag: Newtown, PA Wedding

April 06, 2007

I must tell you that I brought my DVD up to my family this weekend and everyone loved, loved it.  They loved the editing, music and voiceovers.  You/Gary had everyone crying!

Also, everyone told me that they thought your version of the 3 minute wedding recap video was the best by far!  And so do I!—I visit the site regularly to reminisce and I always want to end on your version because it is my favorite.

I hope all is well with you. And thank you for everything!!!  You are video artists.

Warm regards,
Jackie Jolly-Smith

Bar Mitzvah Montage at Temple Beth Shalom, Cherry Hill, NJ

April 02, 2007

Dave,
First of all, we considered ourselves to be genius, that is, to give free license to you, to do whatever you wanted on the montage.  Can I tell you, we had over 50 people Sunday morning for brunch, and we played it over and over again all day long, to everyones delight.
You and your group are truly talented at least and artists at best.  We cannot wait to see what your finished product will be on Drew’s DVD of his bar mitzvah.
Just wanted you to know everyone kept asking who did the montage.  We have taken lots of credit for having the foresight to hire you and believe me, we will sing your accolades forever.
Warmest regards,
David, Daryl and Drew
